Both Gil and Esther have or are working in the motel business in the amish area of Pennsylvania. We have been in the motel business here in Lancaster County, on and off since the early 1970s. Before we came back to Lancaster, we were in Shipshewana, Indiana, opening a motel there (another amish area).

In the summer of 2003, Gil lost his voice. The left vocal cord was paralyzed. We learned that there was a tumor leading into the left lung that is causing the paralysis. He had a series of chemotherapy treatments which ended in December, 2003. Although the tumor is still there, it is not growing. The voice at times is getting stronger, and we thank the Lord Jesus for that. The Lord is seeing us through this. read about this on the "Our Faith" Page.
